The Ultimate Subject: Star Wars v. Star Trek pt1

This will the first part of a series of posts. Today, we will be talking about engines and navigation. As most know, the fastest SW vessel, The Millennium Falcon, cannot exceed 0.5 points past light speed. ST vessels from the newer series can reach warp 9.975. Still, SW ships can move across space just as good. It makes me consider the possibility that "light speed" may refer to Trans-warp velocity. Hmmm...

Starship Registration

I have been watching a lot of Star Trek lately, and I keep thinking about registries. While the TOS Enterprise was NCC-1701, the one from Star Trek: Enterprise is NX-01. Does anyone know how they are different and why? And how come the later Enterprises have a letter affixed to it?
